Pendants and Past Schools

Hellooo sisters and misters … I went for something new, however, now I’m questioning whether I’m actually cool enough for that intro yet haha! Firstly, I wanted to give the biggest, goofy-gal thank you to the incredible response I got on my last post. It came as a real shock to me how many people similarly struggled when initially starting university and while it sucks that university can’t always be a 10/10 experience for everyone, it is a little comforting to know I’m not alone in this – so thank you so so much!!

Today’s post is going to be a tad shorter than the usual but I’m kicking it back to my roots and giving a shoutout to my old stomping ground so, Worksop College this one’s for you ol’ gal. I recently popped back into my old sixth form to pick up some of my A-level artwork and ended up talking to the fabulously lovely Lucy Smithson (the school’s Alumni Officer) who ended up giving me the ultimate school merch goodie bag. This post is definitely not going to be for everyone, but I’m a sucker for some school spirit (regardless of the fact I am now in University haha) so I wanted to give my new favourite lil’ gift the spotlight it deserves.

Not only did Lucy give me the sweetest Old Worksopian mug and a school-branded lollipop (I mean could it get any cooler), she also gave me the loveliest Worksop College pendant and you better believe that I skipped my merry way home and popped that babe on a chain as soon as I could. The charm itself is very dainty and circle shaped, with the school’s crest being engraved into its centre and as you can probably assume, I blummin’ love it. I’m not too sure what material it’s made from, but I have been wearing it all day, every day for around two weeks now and it’s just as shiny as when I got it out of its box. Annoyingly my skin doesn’t react very well to necklaces that aren’t entirely silver or gold  H O W E V E R  this must be a miracle charm because I haven’t had any type of scary, monster rash reaction to it!! I actually got a scholarship to my sixth form and as it had been my dream school for many years, having been there is a really big deal for me so this charm is extra, extra special.

On days where things aren’t entirely sunny side up, it’s nice to have a little nudge from the past to remind you of what you’ve already achieved and surviving A-levels is definitely one of those things for me. So, even if you’re not a budding OW maybe try to find yourself a momentum of your past achievements because regardless of whether you’ve done something jaw-dropping today, you certainly have done before and that still needs to be celebrated. If you are an Old Worksopian reading this post though, waddup home dawg! Fingers crossed these charms will be available to be purchased very soon, along with some engraved cuff links for the guys, so keep your eyes peeled!!

So that’s it for me for now, I’m sorry for only popping up a lil post today but I’ve spent a lot of this past week getting through my last few bits of summer reading for university!! I hope you’re having a wonderful week and fingers crossed I’ll be back with a longer post ASAP,

Lots of love, hugs an happy reading,

– E x
